How to fill up the foam solution at home

linda054

We all face this problem with our vehicle....we are talking about punctured or flat wheels. Your vehicle runs on the road that sometimes has sharp objects that pierce into the rubber covering and the tube. This results into letting the air out while in motion or when your vehicle is standing. The weight of the vehicle on your wheels causes the air to leak out and lead to flat wheel. In the morning when you are in hustle and notice this, the sky comes crushing down on you. With your entire smart outfit you have to replace and repair the injured wheel. But technology today has found a great solution that fits this situation just right. Interested?

A solution that can be filled up in the tube and once cures it protects the tube from getting punctured. Earlier this was used only for remote control operated cars or toy cars. But today this solution is easily used for the passenger vehicles like cars, SUV etc. sometimes also for heavy vehicles that are used on construction sites and constantly face threats from sharp objects such as nails, metal chips, stone pieces etc. These wheels do not bear any special outlook, rather they look normal from the outside, but inside they are filled with a solution called poly urethane foam.

This foam is filled inside the tube with the help of a hole and nozzle. The procedure of filling up this solution is very easy, that anyone with little knowledge can perform it at home. So need to look for an expert to do it. Here is it , step by step:

Clean hands and wear safety glasses for your eyes. This protects the eyes from any gas release from the solution.

You might need two or three cans of minimal expanding foam to fill in your all season tires. If it is your SUV all season tires then you should have one extra handy. Before filling up the tube, lift your vehicle off ground and make sure wheels are not resting onto the ground. Remove the valve stem of wheel and insert a plier into it. This will allow wheel air to escape and fill in those gaps with solution. Drill a hole into rubber near the valve stem, it will help you notice sufficient amount of foam, once it starts to ooze out of that hole. Through another hole, big as nozzle size, start filling in the solution. Continue to insert the foam till the foam oozes out from the hole near valve at top. Let it rest and get cured. Once cured, it will give long lasting protection.

A DIY at home will ensure your wheel durability and a joyride to your family.
